Salt Drawings

So, if you’ve built your DIY budget light box, you’ll want to start switching of the lights and playing. A nice simple activity is Salt Drawing. Simply put a layer of salt, about a 1- 2cm deep in the bottom of a see through storage box and let the kids imaginations create. Our children started out just drawing shapes with their fingers before moving on to using paint brushes to move the salt around, toilet roll tubes to make circles, rulers as scrapers and as it was dark, glowsticks as pencils.
Honestly, it seems too easy but this simple activity kept the kids engaged for ages, and as an added bonus, the adults can put the salt on their chips when its all packed away!
